(transcript of English language speach by King Serenity, 1995/September/25)

(camera focuses on the slight, grey uniformed, figure standing on the dias in
the throne room of the Old Palace, {DKCC} )

	As you may have heard, the Dark Kingdom has been in negotiations with
several governments since the end of the Ethiopian Intervention last fall.
These negotiations have ended.

	As of midnight yesterday, Greenwich Mean Time, the Dark Kingdom has
officially annexed two thirds of Africa.  We hold most of the continent from twelve
degrees north to fourty-five degrees south.

	We purchased these lands from their old governments with remarkably
little trouble, which severely damages claims made by the United States, and
others, about their democratic natures.

	Complaints and requests for bids on one's country should be directed
to the usual places.

(King Serenity smiles into the camera, then steps off the dias, leaving the
camera on the empty floor, glowing {DKNLS} glyphs of the Rules on the side
wall, and the bare, dark grey stone of the far wall.  The scene fades to black
after a moment)

This is generally held to be the reason that Beryl conducted her court in the
language of the Silver Millenium.

King Serenity's insistance on conducting all Dark Kingdom business in {DKNL}
has led some to question her sanity.
