(clean but obvious splice) (CNN, date stamp of 22 May 1997) Reporter: Terrorists holding Sumiko McIntyre, an Ambassadorial Aide at the Dark Kingdom Embassy in Beruit have demanded six million dollars in U.S. currency for her return. The Dark Kingdom has yet to respond. (another clean splice) (CNN, date stamp 3163 Discord 69) Reporter: King Serenity has responded to the terrorist's demands. (CNN cuts to footage of the Throne Room, full illumination, which isn't as bright as a U.S. press conference would be) King Serenity: We are willing to listen to the demands of these terrorists, however, they would have done better to present them in a less confrontational manner. They should return her safe and unharmed within the next twenty-six hours, and should refrain from capturing Dark Kingdom citizens in the future. Any group contemplating copying this behaviour should know that Sumiko, who has only completed the required basic training, killed two of her attackers, hurt three so badly they were left for dead, and criticly injured six more. The only reason we have not wiped this group from the face of the earth is they have not harmed her, and have allowed her to talk with her wife and two children over the phone. Questions? Reporter(abc): Are Dark Kingdom troops going to intervene?(sp) KS: If I was going to answer that I would have. (shot of reporter looking non-plussed, then CNN cuts back to their reporter) R: We will keep you informed as things develop. (clean splice) (CNN, date stamp 3163 Discord 70) Reporter: The Dark Kingdom took the terrorist headquarters in a surprise raid just a few minutes ago. The group, an American right wing extremist organization, surrendered quickly after sixty-five Special Services agents disarmed them. Sumiko McIntyre had this to say of her ordeal, (CNN cuts to a woman, shorter than the people around her, with dark hair and a rumpled grey suit) Sumiko McIntyre: It could have been much worse. I wasn't sure I'd survive when they jumped me, since I'm only a barely competent martial artist. I did my best, and am thankful that they didn't shoot me before I'd had time let Thor know I'd deal with it. I feel sorry for the families of the deceased, but they really shouldn't have attempted this on someone of so little skill. I almost didn't notice them before they attacked me. I'm grateful to the Special Services personel who retrieved me, and I'm glad this is over. (cut) --- Log: plotted at the end of Aftermath, 3166. Written 3167 Chaos 1 ed later same ed 3167 Chaos 19
