(splice) (ABC News SuperBowl coverage) Announcer: At Halftime the score stands at Destroyers 115, Packers 16. Stay tuned to see the final stomping of the season after this. (eyecatch) ( A cream and white two-tone Karmann Ghia SenSha, blast shield and guns folded back against the roof, is rolling out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, crossing Tramway onto old Route 66. I-40 is visible to the car's left. Four old guys are packed into the passenger compartment. A few dozen meters later, just before the road turns, dropping towards a stable and feed store, another Karmann Ghia SS, this one a shiny green metalic, pulls out after them. Three teen-age boys and a perhaps middle-aged woman are in the passenger compartment. The woman isn't actually in the passenger compartment, but standing on the passenger seat, head and torso out of the hatch, guns and blast shield unfolded, wearing the sight helm. The cream and white's driver glances in the mirror, smiles, and floors the accelerator pedal. Outside shot of the two Ghias racing down the curve, then up again. One of the speedo's shows 190MPH. The cream and white blasts up the bridge over I-40, catching air at the crest, throwing rocks as it skids on the island, then flies back onto the road. The green brakes, throwing the gunner forward, and stays on the road as it goes over the bridge, catching up with the cream. The cream and white accelerates up the hill, catching air each time the road levels out a little. Tires smoke at the top of the hill as the cream and white brakes for the turn just past the crest. She is holding a glass of reddish purple liquid. VO(F): Browning Splatterberry Burgandy. A dactoid flys by, a Hesha Nesha steps out of the trees, turns a brilliant greeting-green, then fades back into her bluish hunting camoflage when the woman waves. VO(F): It's like a whole new world. (splice) (ABC News SuperBowl coverage An: In a surprising rally the Packers have fought their way back, with the destroyers leading by a mere twelve points, 131 to 119, with one quarter remaining. We'll be back after this short break. ) (splice) ( Hum of Michelin Everlast SP tires on asphault and high-speed wind about the not-terribly aerodynamic shape of Ghia and blast shield as we fade in on the other side of the hill, the cream and white Ghia crests it, accelerating from the slight turn, flashing down the road past the sign which reads `50 MPH'. The green crests the hill about sixty meters behind, and the gunner cuts loose, the twin .50 machine guns spitting cellulose link and shell into the passenger compartment as she fires short bursts, chewing slowly through the belted ammo. Green splashes mark where the rounds hit. A single green spot appears on the cream paint as the cars flash past a stationary camera. She drops down into the car a bit, her harness visible as it holds her up. Both cars flash under I-40, the concrete barricades on either side of the lane seeming very close. They catch air a moment later, cresting the first hill, sinking several centimeters closer to the road as their suspensions absorb the landing. The cream and white's passenger has the hatch open, guns and blast shield unfolded at the crest of the next hill, and grabs firmly as they freefall back onto the road. The green's gunner taks a couple shots at them as the cream and white's gunner gets his harness hooked up, five to seven round bursts, a concentrated smile on her face. They come down the final hill into Tijeras, and the cream and white's gunner takes a single shot, maybe six rounds, placing two red spots on the green paint. The green's gunner gives the cream and white's a thumbs up as they blast through the two stop signs, under the off ramp from I-40, then through the 30 MPH zone without slowing. They slow slightly, turn under I-40, then accelerate up North 14 towards Cedar Crest. The green's gunner scores another hit on a cream fender. An: With a minute thirty seconds on the clock, and the score a hard-fought Destroyers 137, Packers 136, Packers on the 20 yard line. We'll be back. ) (eyecatch) ( Tires whining, bursts of .50 fire. Fade in on the Ghias, lightly splattered in non-vital areas, on the curve into Golden, New Mexico. Both hold their fire for the fraction of a second it takes to speed through the tiny former mining town. Both brake for the sharp turn and drop just north of town. They accelerate up, onto the nearly straight slightly rolling stretch that extends nearly to Madrid. They fire sparingly, 200 round ammo cans over half empty, the passenger side floor awash in celulose cases. They brake, slowing for the twisty roads up the hill south of Madrid, and whip around the two crests of the road far faster than seems safe. They drop, turn, and start up, towards the final rise before the straight descent into town. The cream and white's driver brakes a few hundred meters past the crest, the green not yet in sight. When the green Ghia appears over the crest a split-second later it is met by a quick burst of red paint, right in the windshield, spread across the entire width. The green's driver raises his hand to his forehead, palm out, and both stop, pulling off the road. Everyone dismounts, hugs, backslaps and congratulations are exchanged.
